Today we will have a private transport ready for you at the airport upon arrival. We will bring you directly to your hotel in San Jose so you can relax.

Time to embark on the most extraordinary jungle adventure, our 2 days / 1 night Tortuguero Expedition. This National Park is located on the North Caribbean plain of the country. A navigable network of lagoons and canals parallel to the coast crosses the Park with great scenic beauty, home to a great number of species surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Tortuguero is considered the most important nesting site on the western half of the Caribbean for the Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas) that comes to the beach to nest every year from July to October. Breakfast, lodging and transportation are included.

Today you will have an early start and enjoy a Naturalistic Canoe Tour and leisure time in the afternoon.

We will pick you up early in the morning from your hotel reception in Tortuguero and head to the Pacuare River for a day of rafting. The Pacuare River is one of the best choices for your adventure treks in Costa Rica. It is world famous for its sheer beauty: A true river gorge flanked by steep, green walls. Here you enjoy the feeling of total isolation from urban life and the realness of being connected with nature. You see waterfalls cascade into the river from both sides as colorful, tropical birds fly right over your head.

The white water that is equally exciting. It is not an overly challenging river, but it has a lot of rapids, therefore giving you an adventure filled with lots of fun. The 18 mile one day run includes a total of 52 rapids.

After rafting we will drop you off in the beautiful town of La Fortuna by the Arenal Volcano.

Arenal is a breathtaking site, perfectly shaped Volcano standing at 1600 meters height, it’s an amazing photo. The volcano has an east green, vegetation covered side, and a west grey, forest less side. An ideal way to make the best of your day is to arrange an activity visiting the green side in the morning, like a horseback ride to the Fortuna waterfall, and another adventure covering the grey side, like the mandatory volcano hike with hot water springs.

The taxi-boat-taxi service, or sometimes called jeep-boat-jeep, is a one-way transfer between Arenal and Monteverde. The two places are only about 50 km apart, but the shortest direct drive takes about 5 hours. Taking a motorized, covered boat ride across the Arenal Lake is far better than driving around it. This shuttle departs daily at 8:30am.

Monteverde is a small community located in the central mountains of the country, halfway between Arenal and the pacific coast. The area is host to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and numerous others, which draw considerable numbers of tourists and naturalists. National Geographic has called the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve “the jewel in the crown of cloud forest reserves”. Monteverde’s variable climate and high altitude has helped produce an extremely high biodiversity, it is acclaimed as one of the most outstanding wildlife refuges worldwide.

The Manuel Antonio National Park is a small biological peninsula found within an area devoted to different productive activities, such as agriculture, cattle and tourism development. Manuel Antonio contains a charming combination of rain forest, great ocean and mountain views, beaches and coral reefs. These beaches are some of most beautiful in the country, lined with lush forest, and the snorkeling is excellent too.

Today we have a shared shuttle service ready to pick you up in Manuel Antonio and drop you off at any hotel in San Jose.

Today we will have a private shuttle to pick you up at your hotel and bring you to the airport for your departure flight.

NOTE: The drive from Manuel Antonio to the Airport is only 3 hours. Therefore if you can book an afternoon flight you can drive directly from Manuel Antonio to the airport and fly the same day. Your last night in San Jose can be used elsewhere in this itinerary, OR you can shorten trip by 1 day.
