La Casona is an ecological hotel run by a Costa Rican family that arrived in the town of Tortuguero 16 years ago. They aim to provide visitors with a cozy place to stay. It is located only 75 meters from Tortuguero’s main pier and 50 meters from the beach.
The hotel is a rustic site, which has 10 basic rooms, reception area, hammocks, restaurant and shake bar. Surrounded by small gardens with tropical plants and flowers that attract hummingbirds, butterflies, iguanas, frogs and others.
The hotel works with rural community tourism and has sustainability practices, thus allowing to live in harmony with the community and with the surroundings of Tortuguero’s National Park.
