TRIPS AND TRANSFERS

ARENAL VOLCANO HIKE

Enjoy hiking through the rainforest at the base of the active Arenal Volcano. This park is filled with wildlife including monkeys, toucans, coati and a large variety of bird species. Your guide will help spot wildlife and give you a detailed history of the active volcano. After the hike you will head to a lava view point to try and see the lava flows where we will also enjoy some ice cold drinks. You can easily include a visit to one of the area Tabacon or Baldi hot springs after the volcano hike. (Tabacon hot springs with dinner included option only)

What to bring on the trip

  • Comfortable hiking or walking shoes
  • Rain Gear ( just in case)
  • Light jacket
  • Bathing suit ( if you are going to the hot springs afterwards)

ARENAL MOUNTAIN BIKE

This beginner/intermediate ride takes us on a dirt road connecting the Arenal Dam with the main entrance to the Arenal National Park. From there we go towards the village of El Castillo. We will be biking on a quiet lane surrounded by dense forest and a few cattle farms. Distance between 13 to 26 KM / 8 to 16 miles.

What to bring on the trip:

  • Biking shorts or comfortable shorts
  • Tennis or hiking shoes
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses

ARENAL LAKE KAYAK TOUR

Enjoy 2 ½ hours paddling on the calm waters of the Arenal Lake with the Volcano as our backdrop. In the trip it is possible to see different kinds of birds like: "Martin Pescador", "Bluish Boy", "Broke Needle", etc. Also it is probable listen the Congos and monkeys of the area.

  • Secure shoes (water shoes or sports sandals are best)

HORSEBAK TO LA FORTUNA WATERFALL

Enjoy horseback riding to the entrance of the waterfall through private farms, forest and hills, where you will have spectacular views of the Volcano. Near the waterfall there is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the forest and wildlife while you swim in the crystalline waters of the river.

What to bring on the trip

  • Comfortable hiking or walking shoes
  • Long pants for the horse trip
  • Bathing suit (optional if you want to swim near waterfall)

CANYONING

Your trip begins with a 30-minute 4x4 drive into the tropical rainforest outside the town of La Fortuna, in the shadow of the Arenal Volcano. This adventure includes 5 rappels, 4 of which are along side or right in waterfalls, and one dry rock face. After this sensational adventure we will return to the base camp to enjoy a typical lunch.

  • Easy dry clothes ( shorts and t-shirt are best)
  • Bathing suit
  • Secure shoes ( Sports Sandals and water shoes are best)
  • Extra change of clothing for after the rafting
  • Sunscreen

CANOPY ZIP LINES

A journey through the top of the rainforest, where you fly from one platform to another one zipping on steel cables, while enjoying the beautiful landscapes of this primary forest from a different angle.

Moving through the rain forest, above the Arenal River Canyon, our tour offers all our clients an unforgettable encounter with nature.

 

  • 13 platforms reaching up to 130 ft. in high.
  • 9 cables reaching up to 230 ft. high.
  • 9 cables with a maximum length of 1033 ft.
  • 168 ft. long hanging bridge between platforms.

What to Bring:
Closed shoes, light and comfortable clothes, and in case you decide to ride a horse, wear long pants.
* At the end of the tour you can chose to do a horseback ride and a rappel (147 ft. high)


RIO CELESTE HIKE

Join us for a unique hike in the Tenorio Volcanic park. We leave La Fortuna heading towards the village of Guatuso. Our hike will begin around 9:00am at the trail head for our 3 to 4 hour hike to the beautiful celestial blue waters consisting of two pristine brooks that meet forming the perfect chemistry to create aqua blue colored waters. As we walk through the Rain Forest, we will visit the "Teñideros" where the river gets its colour, the Turquoise waterfall, the Turquoise swimming hole and the hot spring . Lunch will be served at the trailhead after freshing up, we will return to La Fortuna around 4:30pm.
